Rock and Roll Meets Fashion: Meet the Author Sarah Beck

Hey RRR (Rock and Roll Runway) fans, I am Sarah Beck but you can call me Sar. I am so glad you stumbled upon this page! You are either a total lover of Rock and Roll music, fashion, or both. I am the latter of the three, let me introduce myself…

My Elevator Pitch

I am a passionate, senior student at Mercyhurst Univeristy where I study Fashion Merchandising and Communications. Talkin Style

Me as a "Fashion Designer" (2010)
Ever since I was a very young girl I have loved fashion. Initially, I wanted to be a fashion designer, but I have found a great love for the many other sides of the industry. In terms of my personal style, there is no rhyme or reason, I range from aesthetics such as granola girl to rockstar girlfriend. That’s the cool thing about style, it is always evolving, becoming more uniquely you. Many of the great rock and roll stars have some truly popping style, all of which I am excited to share with you!

That's me, I love music! Growing up in my grandpa's music store, I was surrounded by music 24/7. My grandpa knows how to play a plethora of instruments, my nonna
Where it all Started (2009)
Isabella is an acoustic guitar goddess, my mom Karen is a mandolin picker, my brother David is a banjo star, and my sister Bella shreds on violin, a full Bluegrass family band. Then there was me, the different one, a drummer. I started taking drum set lessons when I was eight years old with a cool mohawk sporting drummer named Dave. I was never good at stick tricks but totally knew how to rock out. My love for drumming branched out from there leading me to jazz band, pep band, marching band, and a short-lived personal band with some high school mates. Recently my drum set has experienced "dust collection" syndrome, but it might just be time to beat off the dust.

So What is "Rock and Roll Runway?"

We are a passion project that explores the music and style of musicians who have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. My contribution is the fashion aspect! Styling for artists and bands is a unique job, one I would be honored to be a part of. If you want to read about your favorite Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician on the RRR, send us an email at rockandrollrunway@gmail.com

Why Should you Read the RRR?
